Ruby can be
cleaned using hot soapy water, rinse thoroughly afterwards as detergents
can cause dermatitis and allergic reactions. Enzyme cleaners should be
avoided. Brushing with an old tooth brush to remove dirt and grease will
also help. Cleaning agents containing chlorine may have a detrimental
effect, so are best avoided.
Rituals for wearing Ruby Gemstone
The weight of the gemstone should not be less than 3 Ratti (360 mg). The
more is the weight of the Ruby, the greater is its effect.
Ruby should be studded in gold.
Ruby ring be kept in the Ganga Water or spring water mixed with unboiled
milk on Saturday night.
After touching this ring to the feet of the desired God reciting the
mantra wear in the ring finger of the left hand.
Mantra:
"Om GrrNi Suryay Namah".
One should pray to Sun saying 'O God! sun we have put on your gem for
your grace, kindly save us fully'.
One should donate red cloth, wheat, jaggery, copper and money according
to his or her capacity to a Brahmin.
