Care & Cleaning Of Pearl Gemstone or Moti

Many commercial cleaners contain ammonia, which will cause deterioration. Vinegar will also deteriorate pearls if not rinsed off right away. Never clean pearls in an ultrasonic cleaners which can damage pearls. A wet soft cloth can be used to clean the pearls slightly.

Rituals for wearing Pearl Gemstone or Moti

The weight of the gemstone should not be less than 2 Ratti (240 mg). 

Pearl should be studded in silver ring. 

After washing with water and unboiled milk and chanting Mantra.

Mantra: "Om Aim Kleem Somay Namah" in a temple of the Lord Shiva

It should be worn on the smallest finger of the left hand. 

After that rice, sugar, wheat, cloth and money should be donated to a Brahmin.
